Challenges in the Design Editing Process

In textile design workflows, it is often not necessary to create a design from scratch. Instead, designers usually need to make small or medium-scale changes to an existing design.

Customer requests such as:

  • “Can we change the colors?”

  • “Can we make the motifs slightly bigger or smaller?”

  • “Can we change the style of the design?”

can significantly extend the design process when handled manually.

These types of revisions are usually time-consuming, often require multiple trials until the customer is satisfied, and may disrupt the designer’s overall workflow.

For freelance designers and teams working on collection development, the design editing process becomes even more critical. Creating alternatives of the same design while preserving visual integrity and stylistic consistency requires considerable effort and time.

Especially under seasonal pressure, spending long hours refining each design reduces productivity and limits creativity.
At this point, the ability to make fast and precise adjustments becomes an essential need for both individual designers and teams.

AI-Powered Design Editing

To address this need, we developed an AI-powered design editing tool that allows you to make precise changes to designs you have created within the platform or uploaded from your own archive—using simple and short prompts.

After uploading the design they want to edit, the user clicks the “Start Editing” button and describes the desired changes in text form. The AI analyzes these prompts and regenerates the design according to the request.

This ensures that:

  • The overall structure and character of the design are preserved

  • Requested changes are applied clearly and in a controlled manner

  • Long and manual editing processes are no longer required

How Does Design Editing Work?

Step 1 – Upload the Design

Users can select a design they previously created within the platform or upload a design from their own archive.

Step 2 – Enter the Editing Prompt

After clicking the “Start Editing” button, you can describe the changes you want to make using short, clear prompts instead of long explanations.

Some of the most common editing requests include:

Color changes

  • “Change the orange flowers to blue”

  • “Make the background color black”

Adding or removing motifs

  • “Add butterflies that match the style and colors of the design”

  • “Remove the dots from the background”

Style changes

  • “Regenerate in watercolor style”

  • “Convert to an embroidery look”

Layout and density adjustments

  • “Make the motifs more compact”

  • “Create more negative space”

For more precise results, providing additional details is always beneficial. For example, when adding lines to the background, specifying the number of lines, spacing, color, or whether they should be horizontal or vertical helps achieve results closer to your expectations.

Step 3 – Use Presets (Optional)

For users who prefer not to write prompts, ready-made presets are available below the input area.

By selecting presets such as Watercolor, Oil Paint, Embroidery, Pastel, or 3D, the relevant prompt is automatically filled in—simply click “Generate” to proceed.

Step 4 – Review the Result and Continue

The generation process takes approximately 2–3 minutes, and the system produces a single, clear result based on the requested changes.

Users can then:

  • Continue editing the same design with new prompts

  • Keep the current result and create a new copy to explore different alternatives

This allows the design process to remain flexible and fully under control.

To help you better understand how it works, we have shared example visuals below.
